Cable Gland and Vent Plug RFQ Checklist for OEM Buyers
A clear inquiry helps suppliers quote faster and reduces back-and-forth on thread size, cable range, material, venting requirements and compliance documents.
Why RFQ Details Matter
Cable glands, breather vent plugs and pressure vent valves look simple, but small specification gaps can slow down quotation. A buyer may request “M20 waterproof gland” while the supplier still needs to know cable range, material, color, locknut requirement, packaging and document expectations.
This checklist is written for OEM buyers, cabinet builders and distributors sourcing outdoor enclosure accessories.
Basic Information to Include
- Product type: EMC brass cable gland, waterproof breather vent, brass pressure vent valve, multi-hole cable gland or standard nylon cable gland.
- Thread family and size, such as M20, M25, M32 or PG sizes.
- Cable outer diameter range for cable glands.
- Hole quantity and each cable diameter for multi-hole glands.
- Material and finish, such as nickel-plated brass, black nylon or light gray nylon.
- Quantity, destination country and expected packaging.
